Action launched against social evils
PESHAWAR: The capital city police on Sunday launched action against social evils and directed the cops to arrest those involved in drug business, land grabbing, usury, underplay and display of arms.
An official said that gangs of land grabbers were busted recently while operations were underway against drug dealers and those displaying arms in public.The official said Senior Superintendent of Police, Operations, Masood Ahmad Bangash had ordered a crackdown on groups involved in looting people through underplay.
He said that 15 members of the groups involved in usury were arrested and shifted to jail under 3MPO. The arrests were made in city, cantonment, rural and suburban areas within the limits of different police stations in Peshawar. Special teams are conducting raids on a daily basis. He added that the Peshawar Police were using all available resources to maintain law and order, protect the lives and property of the people.
