Solar panels stolen
LAHORE: In a daring daylight robbery, thieves stole a newly-installed solar system worth Rs500,000 from the farmhouse of former Test cricketers Kamran Akmal and Umar Akmal’s father in the Hayer area.
According to sources, the culprits broke into the farmhouse and dismantled the expensive solar panels before escaping. "Installed yesterday, stolen today," says Kamran Akmal’s father. Expressing frustration, the Akmal brothers’ father lamented that the solar system was installed just a day before the robbery. Hayer police arrived at the scene, collected evidence, and registered a case against unidentified thieves based on a complaint from farmhouse coach Kashif Mehmood. Officials say they are reviewing CCTV footage and using other investigative tools to trace the culprits.
