This letter refers to the article ‘Do we need a Tehreek-e-Aligarh 2.0 now’ (March 10, 2025) by Ehtasham Anwar. The interpretation of history and conclusion are not convincing. Aligarh college was more oriented towards religion and politics than modern disciplines such as science and technology.
It did not significantly raise the education levels of Muslims to compete with their other country-men. What we really need is a change in the mindset of our rulers who still consider motorways and metros as economic development rather than education and skills.
