CSB meeting continues for second day

According to sources, board has recommended promotion of more than 70 officers

ISLAMABAD: The Central Selection Board (CSB) meeting for the promotion of federal officers to Grades 20 and 21, headed by the Federal Public Service Commission Chairman Lt-Gen (R) Akhtar Nawaz Satti, continued for the second day on Wednesday.

The meeting discussed promotion of officers of the Inland Revenue Service, Customs Service, Pakistan Audit and Accounts Service, Economist Group and the Ministry of Planning and Development. According to sources, the board has recommended the promotion of more than 70 officers. On the first day of the meeting on March 11, there was a rush to promote more than 100 officers. The officers who have been promoted to Grade 20 are Adeel Ashraf, Shahbaz Mustafa, MB Sangi, Tahir Qureshi, Imtiaz Yusuf, Khaleel Ahmed, Mohammad Muzaffar, Munawar Hussain, Khizr Saleem and Zahid Mustafa. The Board will formulate recommendations for promotions of officers from a total of 478 panels of officers from various services and groups on the third day of the meeting today (Thursday). Under the Establishment Division, panels of 78 officers of the Police Service of Pakistan will be considered for promotion to Grade 20-21, while 123 officers will be considered for promotion to Grade 19-20, 8 officers for promotion to the rank of Additional Director General (Grade 21) and 3 officers for promotion to the rank of Director (Law/Grade 20) in FIA under the Ministry of Interior, 11 officers for promotion to Grade 20-21 and 16 officers for promotion to Grade 19-20 of the Postal Group of the Ministry of Communications, 41 officers for promotion to Grade 20-21 and 127 officers for promotion to Grade 19-20 in the Pakistan Administrative Service will be considered. The panel of 8 officers for promotion to the post of Additional Director General (Grade 21) and 3 officers for promotion to the post of Director (Law/Grade 20) in FIA under the Ministry of Interior, 11 officers for promotion to Grade 20 to 21 and 16 officers for promotion to Grade 19 to 20 of the Postal Group of the Ministry of Communications will be considered, 41 officers for promotion to Grade 20 to 21 in the Pakistan Administrative Service and 127 officers for promotion to Grade 19 to 20 will be considered.

Pakistan Mint under the Ministry of Finance will review one officer for promotion to Director General (Grade 20), Military Land and Cantonment Group under the Ministry of Defence will review a panel of five officers for promotion to Grade 20-21 and five officers for promotion to Grade 19-20, ISI will review a panel of three officers for promotion to DG (Grade 21) and seven officers for promotion to Deputy DG (Grade 20), while Chief Engineer (Grade 20) E&C Branch includes a panel of six officers to be considered for promotion.
