Islamabad: Pollen allergies are steadily increasing across the federal capital, with the latest figures showing a significant rise in pollen count, now recorded at 10,494 per cubic meter of air.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, the highest concentration of pollen i.e. 10,494, followed by 5,638 in G-6, 5,173 in E-8 and 2,989 in F-10. As pollen levels continue to climb, residents, especially those with asthma or respiratory conditions, have been advised by officials to take precautions.
They said that pollen counts would likely peak during the second and third weeks of March, potentially reaching as high as 45,000 per cubic meter of air. The officials said that increase in pollen levels was expected to severely impact individuals with allergies, asthma and other respiratory issues, so preventives steps should be taken to prevent serious health hazards.
