BISP beneficiaries to increase to 10m
Islamabad: Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Chairperson Senator Rubina Khalid announced that the number of BISP beneficiaries will increase from 9.3 million to 10 million, expanding financial assistance to more vulnerable families.
She made the announcement during a meeting with newly-appointed Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry. The meeting focused on key operational improvements, including enhanced facilities at BISP offices and streamlined registration for eligible individuals.
Senator Rubina reaffirmed BISP’s commitment to ensuring transparent and non-discriminatory financial aid distribution. In a significant relief measure, she revealed that the quarterly cash transfer amount had been increased from Rs10,500 to Rs13,500, providing greater financial support to underprivileged communities. The BISP chairperson also highlighted the upcoming launch of the Benazir Hunarmand Programme, a skill development initiative aimed at empowering individuals through vocational training.
Iesco teams ensure services during Ramazan
Islamabad: Islamabad Electricity Supply Company (Iesco) chairman Dr. Tahir Masood said that we have successfully ensured the continuity of power supply and excellent services to valuable customer during the first Ashra of Ramazan and this performance is also endorsed by Ministry of Energy (Power Division) and by the valuable Iesco customers as well, says a press release.
The Iesco chairman reaffirmed the commitment to maintaining this level of outstanding performance throughout the Ramazan.
He said that the Iesco dedicated teams of officers and staff working tirelessly to maintain power supply availability round the clock especially during ‘Sehar’ and ‘Iftar’ time. Teams efforts are highly commendable and Iesco Board of Directors appreciated the performance of Iesco chief executive officer and his entire teams of different formations.He further added that the current Board of Directors of Iesco is ensuring the implementation of modern technology in customer services and field operations, which is enabling consumers to access high-quality customer service facilities. As a result, the relationship between IESCO and its consumers is becoming more pleasant.
