Rawalpindi:Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Engineer Amir Khattak has said that the deadline for the completion of the Rawalpindi Ring Road project is December this year, however, the project is a top priority and efforts will be made to complete it before the deadline.
He expressed this in a meeting to review the progress of the project on Monday. The meeting was attended by Director General Rawalpindi Development Authority Kanzi Murtaza, Deputy Project Director Ashfaq Sulehri and FWO officials.
He said that the required funds have been released for the project, after which any slowdown in the pace of work is not acceptable. He said that he should be informed about the progress of the project on a daily basis.
The Commissioner will inspect the site every three days and every week the entire route of the Ring Road will be inspected. The on-ground work will be reviewed by visiting the site. It was informed in the briefing that the financial progress of the project is 50 per cent. After the release of the required funds, the physical and financial progress will accelerate further. In addition, the revised PC-1 has been cleared by the CDWP and will now be presented in the ECNEC meeting. In the latest status of the roadwork, 34 kilometres of sub-grade have been completed, while work is ongoing on 4.3 km. Similarly, 18 kilometres of sub-base have been completed, while work is ongoing on 16 kilometres.
