The Karachi Water & Sewerage Corporation (KWSC) has disbursed a record Rs280 million this month to support employee welfare, following the directives of Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab.
A KWSC spokesperson said in a press statement on Sunday that this marks the highest disbursement ever made by the corporation in a single month. Deputy Managing Director of Finance Syed Iftikhar Ali Shah explained that the payments were processed under the FIFO (First In, First Out) method. The disbursements cover pensions, gratuities, CP funds, LPR, house building loans, marriage loans, financial assistance for the heirs of deceased employees, medical permits, supplementary bills and hospital/institute bills.
Emphasising the mayor’s clear instructions, Shah said widows receive special priority in the disbursements. He reaffirmed that addressing the legitimate concerns of serving and retired employees remains a top priority, and significant steps have been taken to ensure timely payments. Mayor Wahab and KWSC Managing Director Engr Asadullah Khan commended Shah for his exemplary service in facilitating employee welfare.
