The Mall underpass to be constructed in time
Rawalpindi: The Mall underpass will be constructed in the shortest possible time and during this all possible steps will be taken so that the business community of The Mall is not affected, says a press release.
Hassan Waqar Cheema, Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi, expressed these views in a meeting with a delegation led by Zahid Bakhtawari, President Talha Rana, Vice President of the Central Organisation of Traders, Cantonment Registered. Hassan Waqar Cheema said that the plan to make The Mall signal-free through underpasses will be completed in 42 days.
He also assured that patients and the public will be provided access to the military and other affiliated hospitals and Al-Amin Plaza to obtain medicines during the construction.
So that the public’s access to business centres and the provision of life-saving medicines and treatment facilities can be restored in every possible way during the construction. He further said that he will personally contact the Works Department and the Traffic Police to discuss and resolve the issues in a better manner.
In the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner thanked Zahid Bakhtawari for informing him about the problems faced in the construction of underpasses on The Mall. On this occasion, Zahid Bakhtawari paid tribute to the ongoing development works in Rawalpindi City and Cantt and the steps taken by the Punjab government and the city and cantt administration to eliminate encroachments.
