This refers to the news report ‘Estimated Rs5.55 trillion trade discrepancy exposed’ (February 5, 2025). In my opinion, the main reason for the discrepancy identified by the Task Force on Revamping of Maritime Sector is the non-digitisation of the port’s processes.
Obviously, it is quite well known who benefits from these mammoth losses and that too needs to be addressed.
