Tarar pays tribute to party leaders, workers for sacrifices
PMLN leaders and workers have given a lot of sacrifices for democracy and their sacrifices could not be forgotten
LAHORE: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar Sunday said the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) and its workers witnessed tough times in the past and faced jails, courts and police stations.
Talking to the media here, he said everyone was witness to the arrest of Mian Nawaz Sharif, Shehbaz Sharif and Hamza Shehbaz adding that during court hearings, the PMLN leaders were kept away from the media.
“The PMLN leaders and workers have given a lot of sacrifices for democracy and their sacrifices could not be forgotten. The hardship which PMLN President Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and his family faced could not be described in words. The desire would always remain alive that Mian Nawaz Sharif should have spent time with the late Kulsoom Nawaz during her last moments. We pay tribute to all our workers who have passed away.” The federal minister said it was sad that Syed Hassan Asghar, affectionately known as ‘Gudu Shah’ had passed away.
He said it was the government’s top priority to solve the problems of the party workers. The minister said he wanted that if today a workers organising committee was formed, then a party worker should be the head of that committee.
He said the recommendations of the organising committee would be implemented.
He said there should be secretariat where the details of workers regarding their joining of party should be maintained, adding that he would talk to the party’s Lahore president in this regard. PML-N leaders Khawaja Saad Rafique and Pervaiz Rashid also spoke.
