Resolution passed: KP Assembly expresses solidarity with people of Occupied Kashmir

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly on Monday expressed solidarity with the people of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and through a unanimous resolution asked the United Nations and international community to find a peaceful solution to the Kashmir dispute as per wishes of the people of Kashmir.

The assembly resumed the session which was chaired by MPA Taj Mohammad Khan.The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Member Provincial Assembly Ikramullah tabled a resolution for a peaceful solution to the Kashmir issue.

The resolution was passed unanimously as February 05 will be observed as the solidarity day with the people of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.The resolution stated that the Indian security forces and government had snatched the rights of independence, human rights, and freedom of expression in occupied Jammu and Kashmir for the last many decades.

It asked the United Nations and other international organizations to play its positive role in finding out a peaceful solution of the decades-old Kashmir crisis.“As Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly is the representative body of the people of the province, so this House stands with the people of Kashmir in their struggle for independence and self-determination,” the resolution said and added that the provincial assembly strongly condemned the atrocities being done by Indian forces to the people of Kashmir.

An amendment bill was also tabled in the provincial assembly that would lead to the removal of KP governor as chairman of the Board of Governors (BoG) of IMSciences (Institute of Management) Sciences. After the approval of the bill, the chief minister will lead the BoG of IMSciences in the province.

The assembly also passed Shari Nizam Adal Regulations (Amendment) Bill which would enable the provincial government to extend the tenure of deputy Qazi under the Nizam Adal Regulations in the Malakand division.The session was adjourned till Tuesday afternoon (today).
