National readers’ conference promoting literacy and education in Pakistan
Islamabad:The National Readers’ Conference (NRC) 2025, sponsored by Serena Hotels under the Public Diplomacy initiative, brought together a distinguished gathering of readers, writers, educators, and intellectuals, celebrating the importance of reading in Pakistan. The event focused on the pivotal role of literacy and education in shaping a progressive society.
Keynote speeches and panel discussions were led by esteemed personalities including Frederico Silva, Ambassador of Portugal, Gillez Hachez, First Secretary of the Embassy of Belgium, and Dr. Rakshanda Parveen, among others.
These leaders shared valuable insights on literature, education, and the power of books in fostering critical thinking and creativity. The conference also featured engaging competitions, including essay writing, poetry recitation, and storytelling, aimed at encouraging young readers and writers. Winners were honoured with shields, souvenirs, and cash prizes, sponsored by the Embassies of Portugal and Belgium.
