Two cops injured in grenade attack
PESHAWAR: Two policemen were wounded in a hand grenade attack on the Bara Pul Post of the Mathra Police Station Wednesday night.
The spokesman for the Peshawar Police told reporters that unidentified motorcyclists hurled a hand grenade at the post in the limits of the Mathra Police Station.The grenade went off with an explosion, causing injuries to two policemen identified as Shafiullah and Ghulam Haider.
The injured cops were shifted to the hospital where the condition of the injured was said to be stable.After the explosion, heavy contingents of police led by the Deputy Superintendent of Police Warsak Ziaullah arrived at the spot along with the bomb disposal experts and investigators.Police said a search operation was being conducted in the area and checking points were strengthened.
