Navy takes lead in National Shooting Championship

KARACHI: Navy took lead in the 32nd National Shooting Championship at Navy Shooting Range here on Saturday.

In the final of individual category of skeet, Army’s Imam Haroon scored 53 points to win gold and Usman Chand scored 41 points to claim bronze medal while Asif Mehmood from Navy scored 52 points for bronze medal.

In the team category of the said event, Navy scored 340 points to take gold, Army scored 332 points to claim silver, and Sindh with the score of 320 points clinched bronze medal.

In the individual category of 50m Prone Rifle event, Navy’s Aqib Latif scored 619.3 points to clinch gold and Ghufran Adil scored 618.4 points to take silver while M Tahir from Army scored 617.9 points for bronze medal.

In the team category of the said event, Navy scored 1847.0 points to win gold, PAF scored 1841.3 points for silver, and Army scored 1837.0 points to take bronze medal.

In the final of individual category of 25m RFP event, Navy’s Maqbool Hussain scored 34/40 to clinch gold and G M Bashir scored 33/40 for silver while Army’s M Umer Farooq scored 24/40 to take bronze medal.

In the team category of the said event, Navy scored 1732 points (new national record) to claim gold, Army scored 1708 points for silver, and PAF scored 1582 points to win bronze medal.

In the individual category of 10m Air Rifle event for women, Mehar Rehman from Army scored 248.6 points to take gold medal while Navy’s Mehak Fatima scored 248.1 points and Sara Saleem scored 227.2 points to take silver and bronze medals, respectively.

In the team category of the said event, Navy scored 1859.5 points (new national record) to win gold, Army scored 1849.9 points for silver, and HEC scored 1822.6 points to take bronze medal.

In the individual category of 10m Air Pistol event, Army’s Gulfam Joseph scored 240.2 points to claim gold medal and Shahzaib Ahmed scored 237.0 points for silver while Shahrukh Khan from Navy clinched bronze medal with the score of 215.7.

In the team category of the said event, Army scored 1708 points to clinch gold, Navy scored 1698 points for silver.
