PESHAWAR: Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Transport, Haji Rangeez Ahmed, oversaw the successful auction of Road Transport Board (RTB) assets and the Peshawar Bus Terminal (PBT), emphasising transparency and merit throughout the process.

The auction, held at the Transport Directorate office, included the sale of 10 kanals of RTB land, auctioned for Rs31.55 lakh per month, and the Peshawar Bus Terminal, awarded at Rs23 crore annually. Additional auctions included the terminal’s canteen for Rs 9.02 lakh, a spare parts shop for Rs70,500, washrooms for Rs4.5 lakh, and a mobile shop for Rs85,000.

Key officials present included Director Transport Hamid Ali, Deputy Director Dr. Tariq Usman, representatives from the Metropolitan Government, and other senior members. Winning bidders will be formally allotted the auctions after a thorough review of their documents.

Haji Rangeez Ahmed congratulated the Transport Department and committee members for ensuring a transparent and merit-based process. He highlighted that the auction of Peshawar Bus Terminal, held after six years, would significantly boost the revenue of the Transport Department and the province.

“Our goal was a clean and transparent bidding process, and I am satisfied that we achieved that,” he stated. He also commended the bidders for their participation and reiterated the chief minister’s directive to uphold transparency and merit in all departmental activities.
