Barca defender Martinez sidelined for four weeks

BARCELONA: Barcelona defender Inigo Martinez is set to miss four weeks with a hamstring injury, the Catalan club said Tuesday.
Centre-back Martinez sustained the problem in Barca´s 5-2 Spanish Super Cup win over Real Madrid in Saudi Arabia on Sunday. “Tests carried out on Tuesday morning have shown (Martinez) has a right hamstring injury. He will be out for around four weeks,” said Barcelona in a statement.
Ronald Araujo, who replaced him against Madrid, is set to step into the gap amid speculation about a potential move to Italian side Juventus. Martinez, 33, has become a key figure in defence for Barcelona this season under coach Hansi Flick.
