There is no obstacle in approval of Madrassa Act, says JUIF
Kamran Murtaza says Madrassa Registration Bill was supposed to be approved yesterday
QUETTA: Central leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) and Senator Kamran Murtaza has said that there are no longer any obstacles in the approval of the Madrassa Registration Act, as the act has provided solutions for all parties involved.
He said this during a press conference at the Quetta Press Club on Saturday, alongside Mir Usman Pirkani and Jamiat Lawyers Forum leader Malik Khalilullah Rahman, among others.
Kamran Murtaza further said that the Madrassa Registration Bill was supposed to be approved yesterday, but President Asif Ali Zardari was in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh. The final approval of the Madrassa Registration Bill must be given by President Zardari and the government has no excuse for delaying its approval.
He further announced that they will vigorously contest the by-election for the Balochistan Assembly seat PB-45 Quetta on January 5, ensuring that no one will steal the public mandate. He expressed hope that a re-polling would take place on January 5 for the PB-45 Quetta seat, calling the re-poll a test case for the government. He added that Mir Usman Pirkani had already won the seat in the past.
Senator Kamran Murtaza criticized the provincial government for failing to conduct re-polling in Kalat and Quetta, emphasizing that it was the responsibility of lawyers to ensure that the by-election is free from rigging. He urged lawyers to monitor all 15 polling stations during the election.
At this occasion, Mir Usman Pirkani assured that the PB-45 seat would be won at all costs and vowed not to allow any rigging. He emphasized that the public mandate would not be stolen and that they would keep a close eye on the entire by-election process.
Jamiat Lawyers Forum leader Malik Khalilullah Rahman said that the country has been facing a constitutional crisis for the past few years. To address these constitutional challenges, Maulana Fazlur Rehman has amended the constitution of the Jamiat Lawyers Forum. Kamran Murtaza has been appointed as the convener of the Forum at the central level, and membership drives will be conducted at the provincial, district, and tehsil levels.
