OGDC boosts Pasakhi-5 well production
KARACHI: Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has successfully enhanced oil production from the Pasakhi-5 well, situated in Hyderabad, Sindh. This development, part of the Pasakhi Development & Production Lease (D&PL), reflects OGDC’s strategic focus on optimising energy output.
According to a company filing on the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the well’s production increased significantly after the installation of an artificial lift system (ESP). The initiative involved deploying a rig to enhance the well’s efficiency. Previously, Pasakhi-5 produced 480 barrels of oil per day (bpd) through natural flow. Following the upgrade, production has surged to 900bpd, marking a notable increment of 420bpd.
OGDC holds a 100 per cent working interest in the Pasakhi D&PL. The company stressed that this achievement underscores its commitment to using advanced technologies to bolster the country’s energy resources, support economic growth and ensure a sustainable energy supply.
