Official suspended for facilitating smuggling

KOHAT: Kohat Division Commissioner Syed Motasim Billah Shah has suspended the superintendent of his office Abdul Raziq on charges of facilitating the smuggling of timber and ordered immediate inquiry against him. 

Kohat Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) was appointed as an inquiry officer, who has been directed to submit a report with recommendations within three days. The commissioner also visited the Tanda Dam in Kohat and issued directives for the suspension of the staff on duty for the pathetic cleanliness condition and negligence in the safety of tourists.

He also ordered immediate action against the owner of the boat for not keeping life jackets in the said dam.He sought an immediate explanation from the XEN Irrigation on this serious negligence by tomorrow and in case of unsatisfactory reply, action would also be taken against him.The commissioner also issued directions to all the DCs and the district police officers of the division to take stern legal action against the timber mafia and those who damage forests.
