Minister opens Sabzazar road re-construction
LAHORE : On the special instructions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, LDA has planned to re-construct a 2.5-kilometer road from Sabzazar Main Boulevard to Kharak Nala.
Provincial Minister for Housing Bilal Yasin, LDA Vice Chairman Mian Marghoob, PMLN leader Noman Ahmed and LDA DG Tahir Farooq laid the foundation stone for the re-construction of the dilapidated road. On this occasion, local traders thanked the chief minister. Housing Minister Bilal Yasin said that under the sustainable model, a 2.5-kilometer road would be re-constructed from Sabzazar Main Boulevard Scheme to Kharak Nala.
Special measures will also be taken for pedestrians under the project. Road signage will also be improved in the Main Boulevard Sabzazar. Public convenience and welfare projects were the PMLN top priority. Rainwater wells will be built to improve underground drainage of rainwater. The work of underground wiring, green areas and streetlights will be completed. Vice Chairman Mian Marghoob Ahmed said that the LDA was taking steps under a comprehensive strategy in the provincial capital. Chief Engineer LDA Israr Saeed, Project Director and the officers concerned were present on the occasion. Later, LDA DG Tahir Farooq visited different blocks in Sabzazar Scheme and reviewed the cleared and vacated LDA-owned property.
He said that a commercial zone would be created on the land cleared of slums, encroachments and occupation built over more than 30 years.
