Sindh's Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon on Friday raised concerns over the issue of escalating gas loadshedding in the province, describing it as reaching "alarming levels”.
The severe shortage of gas is causing immense hardships for the people, disrupting daily life and industrial activities, he said in a statement. Memon highlighted that the entire province, including Pakistan's economic hub, Karachi, was facing significant challenges due to the ongoing gas shortages. He emphasised that the lack of a continuous gas supply had created widespread uncertainty and disappointment among the people of Sindh.
He called on the federal government to take immediate and concrete action to resolve the issue, ensuring an uninterrupted gas supply, particularly during the winter months. He stressed that the fair distribution of natural resources was the responsibility of the federal government and urged the prime minister and the federal authorities to prioritise this critical matter.
