ISLAMABAD: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Monday issued arrest warrants for the absenting PTI protesters allegedly involved in D-Chowk protest demonstration. Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra issued the arrest warrants. Golra police had registered a case against the PTI protesters on November 24.
The judge asked at to why the accused were not present in the court. Advocate Sardar Masroof told the court that the accused were not appearing because the police were not only arresting innocent people but also their relatives.
He said the police were only completing the numbers by arresting innocent people having no concern with the protest demonstration. The court adjourned further hearing of case till January 6.
In another case registered by the Secretariat police, ATC Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain approved a three-day physical remand of 19 PTI supporters for their alleged involvement in in the D-Chowk protest rally. The police requested further 30 days physical remand of the accused but the court extended the remand to only three days.
