KARACHI: Pakistani IT companies have won 10 annual international awards at the prestigious Asia Pacific ICT Alliance (APICTA) Awards 2024 held in Brunei Darussalam, according to a statement released by Chairperson of Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA) Sajjad Mustafa Syed.
As per the details shared in a press release on Monday, Pakistani brand Cheque Mate came first in the banking, insurance and finance sub-category; Ticket Wala won the award in media and entertainment; and Adlytic AI grabbed the award in the retail and distribution sub-category.
According to Sajjad, the winners in the tertiary students category were HemAIDX from the National University of Science & Technology (NUST), Dermopsy from the NUST College of EME, and Augmented Reality-Based User Manuals from Air University’s Aerospace & Aviation Campus at Kamra.
Senior Vice Chairman of P@SHA Muhammad Umair Nizam added that in the Internet of Things (IoT) sub-category, Pakistan’s ALEF emerged as winner; Adlytic AI won a second award in the startup of the year sub-category as well. Pakistani Augmented Reality Based User Manuals also won a second distinction as the People’s Choice Award.
APICTA’s member-economies include Australia, Bangladesh, Brunei, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Macao, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam.
P@SHA says that this victory would help firms secure business and IT services export orders from global clients. Besides this, they could also get to tap into investment sources from around the world, enabling them to expand their operations and explore commercial collaborations.
