PMLQ opposes ban on PTI
Shafay urges KP CM Ali Amin Gandapur to pay attention to progress and development of his province
LAHORE: After Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), PMLQ, another ally of the PMLN government, has opposed a ban on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and supported the initiation of dialogue with it.
Elder son of PMLQ President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Punjab Minister for Industries and Commerce Chaudhry Shafay Hussain opposed any move to ban the PTI, the party founded by former prime minister Imran Khan.
Talking to the media on Wednesday, Shafay said the PTI was a political party and a ban should not be imposed on it. However, he also demanded action against those who disrespected martyrs monuments during the May 9 protests last year.
Shafay slammed the PTI for its nine-year rule in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa without any concrete step for development and stated that not a single hospital was built during this time period.
To a question, he urged KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur to pay attention to progress and development of his province instead of staging demonstrations.
