After recording three more polio cases this past Monday (December 2), the country’s polio tally has reached 59 for the current year. This intense resurgence of the polio virus is an alarming situation and an indictment of our anti-polio policies and efforts.
Although security issues, vaccine hesitancy, and false propaganda are tough challenges, the government must confront them head-on. It is time for a clear national policy in order to curb the polio virus. It is time to save our children’s lives.
