BAHAWALPUR: Five members of a family were found dead inside their house on Tuesday afternoon in a private housing society.
According to Rescue Control Bahawalpur and Bahawalpur police, a neighbour of the victim family informed Rescue-1122 about the incident. The rescue team immediately rushed to the location and found all the doors of the house closed. However, with the help of neighbours, the rescuers entered through an unlocked window and discovered 40-year-old Kashif Baloch, his wife Urooj Bibi, and their sons-15-year-old Jahanzeb, 13-year-old Abdullah, and 9-year-old Abdul Wahab-shot dead. A pistol was found beside the bodies.
The cause of death is still under investigation, as police and forensic teams are collecting evidence from the crime scene.
Regional Police Officer Rai Babar Saeed said it was too early to conclude the tragic incident. He did not rule out the possibility of suicide by one of the parents, which might have resulted in the deaths of the children and spouse before the parent took their own life.
Kashif Baloch was a businessman from Ahmad Pur East. He had brought his wife and children to Bahawalpur for better educational opportunities for his children. The brother of the deceased told the media that Kashif had no known enemies and that there was no domestic dispute between him and his wife.
The police and investigation agencies, after collecting all necessary evidence from the scene, have shifted the bodies to the Bahawal Victoria Hospital mortuary.
