ATC orders identification parade for 281 PTI protesters
Police produced 283 arrested individuals, including two women, before court
ISLAMABAD: An anti-terrorism court has ordered an identification parade for 281 individuals arrested at D-Chowk during the PTI protest on November 24.
Additionally, two women among the detainees were sent to jail on judicial remand on Monday. The police produced the 283 arrested individuals, including the two women, before the court. Defence lawyer Ansar Kiani was also present.
The police requested the court to conduct an identification parade for all the detainees. However, the defence lawyer opposed it, arguing that the accused had been in police custody for six days. He cited a ruling from the Islamabad High Court concerning the identification parade process. The arrested individuals face charges in cases registered at Kohsar Police Station and other police stations, including Karachi Company, Margalla, Secretariat, and Tarnol. They were taken into custody on November 24 during the PTI protest at D-Chowk.
