Ministry gets more Chromebooks for schoolchildren
Islamabad:The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training has said that a new batch of 300 Chromebooks has arrived for delivery to primary and high schools in the Islamabad Capital Territory. Officials said it was a significant step forward in the ministry’s ongoing efforts to enhance educational access and quality through technology.
They said the latest shipment of Chromebooks - laptops that run on Google Inc.’s Chrome Operating System and are primarily designed for online use - took the number of those devices set for distribution to 1,000.
According to officials, over the next 15 days, an additional 500 Chromebooks will be distributed to schools, further expanding the technological resources available to students. These Chromebooks will be used alongside digital interactive boards, transforming the traditional classroom setting into an interactive and technology-driven learning environment. Students will gain access to a wide range of digital educational tools, which will enable them to learn more effectively and efficiently.
The officials highlighted the importance of the initiative, saying the ministry is committed to leveraging technology to improve learning outcomes and equip students with the skills they need for success in the digital era.
They said the provision of Chromebooks to students was part of the broader goal to empower them and modernise the education system. Officials said that those technology-enabled platforms would bring about positive changes in the education sector, helping students adapt to modern learning methods and improving overall academic performance.
