The world nowadays is facing very serious environmental problems, including climate change, ozone depletion and mass extinction of wildlife. Our country is vulnerable to climate change and the study of climate change litigation is likely to emerge as a much-needed field in the days ahead. In order to realise the environmental rights of the people, the courts must play an active role to save the environment and tackle climate change.
The citizens must not be unmindful of their environmental rights, they must move the courts so that government departments, among others, are directed to ensure the protection of the environment.
