UAE offers support to Pakistan to minimise smog impact
Ambassador Hamad says that smog has been discomforting and it must be controlled by all possible means
ISLAMABAD: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has offered Pakistan technical and material support to minimize the impact of smog in different areas of the country.
Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Al-Zaabi, Ambassador of the UAE, in a brief chat with The News here Saturday expressed his dismay about the smog in Pakistan, particularly in Punjab. He reminded that last year when the caretaker government was in place here, his government had assisted Pakistan in overcoming the smog by technical support. The UAE provided special aircraft for cloud seeding that helped artificial rain in some areas and provided relief to the brotherly people, he said.
Ambassador Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Al-Zaabi said that smog has been discomforting and it must be controlled by all possible means. He expressed satisfaction about the administration here which has been taking suitable steps to check the situation. The UAE envoy said that he was in-touch with the host government and hopefully it would take further steps to mitigate the suffering on account of smog.
