The Pakistan Cricket Board is in the process of re-organising its affairs. The lack of performance by the Pakistan cricket team in recent years has made it necessary to look into the matter and take action. The PCB is a rich, fully organised and independent set up which has now plenty of experience in cricket affairs. It has already taken some action and more 'surgeries' are planned.
I want to draw the attention of the PCB Afghanistan A cricket team, the second-tier professional team of Afghanistan, winning the 2024 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup in Oman. The PCB needs to find out what the Afghan cricket board, which is a new set up that lacks the finances of more established bodies, has done to create such a dynamic cricket team in such a short time and what the Pakistani cricketers lack that the Afghan cricketers excel in.
