QUETTA: Quetta Bar Association (QBA) President Qari Rahmatullah has condemned the Sindh Police’s assault on three lawyers including the president of the Hub Bar Association, at the Hub Judicial Complex.
He called for action by the inspector general of police and other authorities against those responsible for the incident. He announced that lawyers would boycott court proceedings and display black flags outside bar rooms to protest the incident.
He was addressing a press conference here on Thursday, joined by lawyers Mir Attaullah Lango, Asghar Khan Mandokhel, Akbar Shah and Abid. He explained that the Sindh Police assaulted the lawyers, injuring HBA President Haml Mari and two others. The complex remains under the Sindh police control, despite multiple appeals to senior officials including the IGP. He warned that if the police siege was not lifted, the lawyers would intensify their protest, for which the authorities would bear full responsibility.
