PTI MNA disqualified for concealing assets

MULTAN: Election Tribunal Judge Rana Zahid Mehmood disqualified Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA Rai Hassan Nawaz on the charge of corrupt practices and ordered re-election in NA-162, Chichawatni, on Tuesday. In a petition, independent candidate Haji Muhammad Ayub said that Rai Hassan Nawaz had submitted wrong details about his assets before the district returning officer in the 2013 general elections. The petitioner said that Rai Hassan Nawaz was the managing director of Murtaza Haseeb textile mills, which was a defaulter of Rs887 million.He also concealed his ownership of a petrol pump and a CNG station, the petitioner added. He said that Rai Hassan was a defaulter of Rs400,000 of the PTCL.
