Students, parents urged to help eradicate use of drugs
NOWSHERA: An academician on Monday urged the students, their parents and people in general to play a proactive role in eradicating the menace of drugs from society.
Speaking at a seminar titled “Drugs: The Curse of Our Society and Their Growing Trend Among Students in Educational Institutions” here at Government Degree College, Pabbi, Principal Prof Wajid Ali said that the drug mafia was spoiling the future of our generations.
Following the directives of the provincial government and the special instructions of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Department of Higher Education, a one-day seminar was organised at the Government Degree College Pabbi on the topic.The teaching staff and students of the college discussed the issue and termed the use of drugs a curse in society that destroys generations.
“In order to free educational institutions from the clutches of the drug mafia, it is imperative for government bodies, parents and students to play an active role against the menace,” the principal said, adding that through awareness campaigns in educational institutions and promoting healthy activities, this menace can be minimized at least.
