Al-Akhwan CC win T20 title
KARACHI: Medium pacers Owais Jamali and Mannan Sonija helped Al-Akhwan CC win the inaugural edition of the Zakir Babu and Arshad Muneem Memorial T20 League.
They defeated Jinnah Sports by 41 runs in the final at the Abbasi Gymkhana Cricket Ground. Al-Akhwan CC, batting first, scored 148 runs with Rehan Sonija striking two boundaries and a six in his 44 from 40 balls. Asif Ali made 30 off 23 balls with four boundaries and a six. Saad BJ struck an undefeated 25 with two fours and one six.
Medium pacer Muhammad Rabi grabbed the three wickets for 25 while slow left armer Naeem Jobat captured three wickets for 28 runs. Jinnah Sports were all out for only 107 with Farooq Khatri scoring 44 off 29 balls with five fours and three sixes. Iqbal Khatri contributed 36 off 38 balls, with three fours. Owais Jamali claimed three wickets for just 11 runs while Mannan Sonija grabbed three wickets for 29. Hammad BJ took 2-29.
