SAU launches 1 Million Tree Plantation Drive at Isra University
HYDERABAD: The Sindh Agriculture University (SAU) Tandojam, in collaboration with the Breathe Green organisation has launched a large-scale tree plantation drive at the Isra University Hyderabad and along Hala Naka Road.
The launch of the drive marked the commencement of the ‘1 Million Tree Plantation Drive’, an ambitious campaign earlier announced by SAU Vice Chancellor (VC) Dr Fateh Marri.
The initiative aims at addressing climate change, promoting biodiversity and fostering stronger community engagement.
Dr Marri, former VC Dr AQ Mughal, and students from both the SAU and Isra University participated actively in the drive planting over 200 trees of various species. "Every tree planted today is a step towards a greener and more sustainable future. It is essential for mitigating the negative impacts of climate change," Dr Marri said. Dr Mughal echoed these sentiments, stating that planting trees was crucial.
