Efforts underway to improve health facilities
LAHORE: Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique paid a surprise visit to Punjab Institute of Neurosciences.
The minister visited the patients under treatment in PINS and reviewed the medical facilities.
On this occasion, Principal General Hospital Prof Sardar Farid Al Zafar, MS General Hospital Dr Farid, MS Pins Dr Umar Ishaq and related staff were present.
Khawaja Salman Rafique visited various departments of Punjab Institute of Neurosciences and also reviewed the sanitation.
Provincial Minister of Health Khawaja Salman Rafique, while expressing his opinion, said efforts are being made to ensure health facilities in government hospitals.
“We are trying to improve further the conditions of government hospitals,” the minister said.
Meanwhile, Health Adviser to CM Major General (R) Dr Azhar Kayani visited and inspected Punjab Institute of Neurosciences (PINS) where he reviewed the provision of modern medical facilities.
Talking during his round of the Institute, he observed that complex diseases like neuro, Punjab government has taken important measures and in this regard the services of doctors and paramedical staff are commendable and worthy of praise.
It includes brain aneurysm treatment, complex brain surgery and spine operation and in the coming days the government will introduce more positive changes and improvements in the medical field which will bring relief to the common man, he added.
Executive Director PINS Prof Dr Asif Bashir while giving a briefing to Health Adviser said a stroke centre has been established in PINS which is providing round the clock services to patients coming across Punjab.
He said that PINS is a state-of-the-art institution in terms of its services and facilities where modern medical equipment is available for treatment and patients from all over the country prefer this Institution for neuro diseases.
Prof Asif Bashir highlighted that we are committed to providing the best treatment to the patients and our aim is to serve the masses according to the vision of the CM Punjab for which the Institution is working with the best plan according to its resources.
Dr Azhar Kayani said the Punjab government always trying to improve the health services and it is being ensured that free and quality medical facilities are extended to the people without any charges.
He assured that in the future, more development projects will be introduced in the health sector so that the patients can get better health facilities.
