Junior Hockey Asia Cup to begin from Nov 26
ISLAMABAD: The Men’s Junior Hockey Asia Cup is set to take place in Muscat (Oman) from November 26 with Pakistan opening their campaign on the second day of the competition.
A total of ten teams including India, Pakistan, Korea, Malaysia, Japan, Bangladesh, Chinese Taipei, Oman, Thailand, and China will compete in the event. The six highest-ranked teams in the final ranking of the Men’s Junior Asia Cup 2024 will qualify for participation in the FIH Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup 2025 (other than the host in case the host of the FIH Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup 2025 is an Asian NA.
Pakistan have been placed in Group B along with Malaysia, Bangladesh, Oman, and China. India head Group A alongside Korea, Japan, Chinese Taipei, and Thailand. Pakistan will play their opening match against China on November 27 followed by a match against Bangladesh on November 28, and against Oman on November 30. Pakistan and Malaysia will be up against each other on December 1. The semi-finals and final will be played on December 3 and 4, respectively.
