Cop injured in Shangla checkpost attack
ALPURI: A cop sustained injuries when suspected militants attacked a police checkpost in Muslim Kandao area in the Shangla district.
Official sources said that the attackers opened fire on the checkpost, leaving a cop injured.The injured cop was identified as Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Sardar Jan. He was initially rushed to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Puran.
After receiving first aid, he was transferred to the Saidu Sharif Hospital in Swat for further medical care.The cops manning the checkpost also returned fireg, but the assailants managed to escape from the spot.
Following the incident, the local police launched a search operation to track down the attackers. A few months ago, there was another attack by terrorists in the Yakhtangi area of the same Puran tehsil.
