LAHORE:Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Bilal Siddique Kamyana Monday ordered a crackdown on gamblers In a statement, the CCPO asked cops to intensify intelligence-based raids on gambling dens and use information technology to locate the dens.
Meanwhile, Lahore Police have claimed registering 927 cases and making arrests of 3,976 suspects for their involvement in gambling and online betting activities and seizing over Rs156 million from the detained accused.
The CCPO highlighted the importance of monitoring social media accounts and applications that promote online gambling. He encouraged citizens to support police efforts in establishing a crime-free community.
Girl reunited with parents
A 10-year-old girl was reunited with her parents through the efforts of Virtual Centre for Child Safety. The girl had come to Lahore from Bhakkar to stay with her relatives and she left the house and got lost.
A citizen found her and called the police helpline at 15. The police took the girl into protective custody and the Virtual Centre for Child Safety circulated her pictures to all districts. Police located her parents and handed over the girl to them.
