Malakand RPO and Swat DPO replaced

PESHAWAR: The regional police officer (RPO) Malakand and the district police officer (DPO) of Swat were on Wednesday closed to the Central Police Office (CPO) after the recent attack on the convoy of diplomats on way to Malam Jabba.

According to a notification Malakand RPO Muhammad Ali Gandapur and Swat DPO Zahid Ullah were directed to report to the CPO.A grade 19 officer Irfan Ullah was posted as RPO Malakand while a grade 17 officer Badshah Hazrat was directed to work as DPO Swat till the appointment of another officer.

One policeman was martyred and two others were wounded when their vehicle was hit by an improvised explosive device on Malam Jabba Road on the 22nd of this month.The vehicle was escorting diplomats from 12 countries and members of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industries. All diplomats had remained unhurt and were taken back to Islamabad.The diplomats were on their way to Malam Jabba after attending an event at the Chamber of Commerce in Mingora when the attack happened at the Sherabad locality.
