Aircraft issues Mayday call
All passengers and crew were safely evacuated using aircraft’s emergency exits

LAHORE: A flight en route from Karachi to Lahore issued a Mayday call at 7:15am on Monday, reporting smoke in the cargo compartment, according to a spokesperson for the Pakistan Airport Authority (PAA).
The aircraft safely landed at the Lahore airport at 7:23am. Following standard operating procedures, the Fire Department was put on high alert. All passengers and crew were safely evacuated using the aircraft’s emergency exits, the spokesperson confirmed. The department inspected the aircraft and declared it safe at 7:57am. An official investigation into the cause of the incident has been launched.
