‘Healthy culture being promoted as per CM’s vision’

LAHORE : The Punjab province has been blessed with plenty of talent in all fields and Punjab Youth Affairs Department is taking all possible measures for the development of healthy culture among the younger generation of the province as per vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.

Director General Youth Affairs and Sports Punjab Pervez Iqbal expressed these views while talking to media at the Inter-Division Dodgeball Championship at Nishtar Park Sports Complex Gymnasium Hall.

He said that Sports Board Punjab is promoting the game of dodgeball like other sports disciplines. “New talent of dodgeball game will emerge from 2-day SBP Inter-Division Dodgeball Championship”.

All the participating teams, players and officials were introduced to Pervez Iqbal, who also witnessed the exciting matches of the opening day.

He said that the game of dodgeball will be included in the Annual Calendar of Sports Board Punjab. “The holding of 2-day Inter-Division Dodgeball Championship is a positive development for the bright future of the game,” he added.

The Lahore Division emerged victorious in the inaugural Punjab Inter-Division Dodgeball Championship. Lahore triumphed in both the fabric and foam ball categories, securing the titles in each final.

Lahore claimed a one-sided victory over Multan in the fabric category final, defeating them by a score of 16-4 while in the foam ball final, Lahore overcame Sargodha with a margin of 6-4 win to be crowned champions.

Sahiwal secured third place in the foam ball category, while Faisalabad claimed third place in the fabric ball category. Pakistan Dodgeball Federation President Mian Rizwan Ali was the chief guest at the closing ceremony.
