JI renovates five parks

The Karachi Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has renovated five parks for the residents of Karachi. These parks were inaugurated by Karachi JI Mmir Monem Zafar in New Karachi Town on

Friday.

Speaking to the media after the inauguration, Zafar highlighted that JI has restored over 100 parks so far, transforming some from garbage dumps into family parks. He noted that this restoration effort spanned nine towns over the past ten months. Zafar emphasised that JI had promised to deliver beyond its mandate, and the party had fulfilled that commitment. He contrasted JI's approach with that of the MQM and other parties, stating that JI was focused on providing relief to the masses rather than complaining.

He affirmed that JI would continue its progress and development initiatives in Karachi, mentioning that the nine towns managed by JI had allocated their own budgets for water, sewerage, and other issues typically under the purview of the Sindh government.

Zafar also criticised the local mayor and the local bodies minister, claiming they were undermining the local government system. He called for the resignation of the local bodies minister in light of the current situation in Karachi. He pointed out that the Pakistan Peoples Party government in Sindh had spent Rs4 billion of taxpayer money on road repairs before the monsoon season, only for much of that work to wash away in recent rains, with some roads lasting merely a day.

He urged citizens to take ownership of the new parks and ensure their maintenance to uphold safety and standards. During the ceremony, he praised the town chairman and his team, along with the relevant officials. New Karachi Town Chairman Mohammad Yousuf also addressed the attendees at the inauguration ceremony.
