Four get death sentence for killing 4 members of a family
ALPURI: A local court on Saturday handed down death to four convicts for murdering four persons of a family in Bhagyar Aloch Puran area in the district on Saturday.
In a landmark verdict, District and Sessions Judge, Nasrullah Khan Gandapur sentenced four persons to death in the murder case of four members of a family in Bhagyar Aloch Puran area.
According to the court decision, the convicts named Sher Alam, Siab Khan, Iqbal Hussain, sons of Gul Dar Khan), and Haji Nawab, son of Jaffar Khan, all residents of Bangli, Puran in Shangla, were found guilty for the murder of Gul Zareen and his three sons Attaur Rahman, Faizur Rahman and Azizur Rahman.
The court handed down multiple sentences to the convicts, including three years imprisonment and a fine of Rs20,000 under sections 148/149 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), five years imprisonment and a fine of Rs30,000 under section 457/149 of the PPC, and death sentence for four times for each of the four murderers under section 302B/149 of the PPC. Also, each convict was ordered to pay Rs500,000 in compensation for each victim. Under section 15AA of the PPC, the convicts were further sentenced to three years imprisonment and a fine of Rs30,000.
In the same case, Jaffar Khan, Usman Ghani, and Gul Nawab were sentenced to three years imprisonment and a fine of Rs20,000 under section 148/149 of the PPC, five years imprisonment and a fine of Rs30,000 under section 457/149 of the PPC, and life imprisonment with a fine of Rs500,000 for each of the four murders under section 302B of the PPC. They were also sentenced to three years imprisonment and a Rs30,000 fine under section 15AA.
Similarly, Bakht Zaman and Pehlawan, sons of Gul Zareen, were sentenced to life imprisonment and fined Rs500,000 under section 302/109 of the PPC for their role as accomplices in the murders.
It may be mentioned that the convicts with the assistance of Bakht Zaman and Pehlawan, had forced their entry into the victims’ home and had killed Gul Zareen and his three sons, Azizur Rahman, Attaur Rahman and Faizur Rahman.
The first information report (FIR) was registered at Aloch Police Station under sections 302/457/149/148/109 of the PPC and section 15AA.
