PESHAWAR: The Public prosecutors across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Wednesday announced an indefinite boycott of judicial proceedings, starting from today (Thursday) in protest against the provincial government’s failure to set up an independent and autonomous Prosecution Department and the office of the Prosecutor General.

The Peshawar High Court Bar Association, along with other regional bars, has extended support to the prosecutors and urged the government to meet their legitimate demands.
The decision was made during a provincial convention organized by the KP Prosecution Officers Association in Peshawar.

The key speakers included the association’s president, Sangeen Shah and General Secretary Javed Ali Mohmand, Amin Khan president Attached Department Association, Noor Zaman Khattak, president Law Officers Welfare Association. Prominent members of the legal fraternity, such as the President of the Peshawar High Court Bar Association Fida Gul advocate, and other provincial bar leaders, also participated in the convention.
