Vegetables, fruits rates cut, not enforced

LAHORE : The prices of seasonal vegetables witnessed a decline only in the official rate list this week as the district management failed to implement the official rates across the provincial metropolis.

Besides, the district administration could not enforce the official rates of milk, curd, and all type of meat. The sellers claimed of bribing the government officials to violate the rates. Furthermore, all type of grains and pulses were also sold higher the official rates. It seems that the official rate lists are issued to fill the files and documents only.

This week price of chicken increased by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs396-410 per kg, sold at Rs460-480 per kg and chicken meat by Rs22 per kg, fixed at Rs594 per kg, and sold at Rs670-1,000 per kg.

The price of potato sugar-free A-grade reduced by Rs4 per kg, fixed at Rs72-78 per kg, sold at Rs140-150 per kg, B-grade at Rs65-70 per kg, and C-grade at Rs55-60 per kg, mixed sold at Rs100-120 per kg. The price of onion A-grade declined by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs137-135 per kg, sold at Rs180-200 per kg, B-grade by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs114-120 per kg, and C-grade by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs100-105 per kg, mixed sold at Rs140-160 per kg.

The price of garlic local unchanged at Rs370-385 per kg, sold at Rs500-600 per kg, Garlic Harnai at Rs415-430 per kg, sold at Rs600 per kg, Garlic GI variety increased by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs185-190 per kg, sold at Rs350-400 per kg and Garlic China increased by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs520-540 per kg, sold at Rs800-1,000 per kg. The price of Ginger Thai reduced by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs560-580 per kg, and Ginger Chinese at Rs565-585 per kg, both sold at Rs800-1,000 per kg.

Cucumber Farm was unchanged at Rs115-120 per kg, sold at Rs160-180 per kg, and cucumber local price fixed at Rs105-110 per kg, sold at Rs220-240 per kg. Brinjal price reduced by Rs3 per kg, fixed at Rs52-55 per kg, sold at Rs100-120 per kg. Bitter gourd reduced by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs145-150 per kg, sold at Rs200-220 per kg. Ladyfinger price increased by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs95-100 per kg, sold at Rs140-160 per kg.

Turnip price reduced by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs105-110 per kg, sold at Rs250 per kg. Pea price was increased by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs290-300 per kg, sold at Rs400-450 per kg. Beetroot was sold at Rs400 per kg. Coriander was sold at Rs40 per bundle.

The price of different variety of apples increased by Rs25 per kg, fixed at Rs105-215 per kg, sold at Rs150-400 per kg. The price of Banana A-category declined by Rs10 per doze, fixed at Rs140-145 per dozen, sold at Rs180-200 per dozen, and B-category fixed at Rs95-100 per dozen, sold at Rs130-150 per dozen, and C-category fixed at Rs67-70 per dozen, sold at Rs100-120 per dozen. Guava price increased by Rs35 per kg, fixed at Rs125-200 per kg, sold at Rs250-300 per kg. Pomegranate desi price increased by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs265-275 per kg, sold at Rs350-400 per kg, pomegranate kandahari by Rs40 per kg, fixed at Rs305-315 per kg, sold at Rs400-450.

Grapes Sunderkhani gained by Rs75 per kg, fixed at Rs435-455 per kg, sold at Rs520-600 per kg, grapes gola increased by Rs30 per kg, fixed at Rs230-240 per kg, sold at Rs350-400 per kg, Grapes Black by Rs40 per kg, fixed at Rs395-410 per kg, sold at Rs550-600 per kg.

Peach price increased by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs160-265 per kg, sold at Rs250-400 per kg.

Peer price gained by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs205-215 per kg, sold at Rs240-300 per kg.
