I very strongly object to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur’s suggestion of starting direct talks between him and the Afghan Taliban regime. No provincial unit of the federation has the legal right to talk directly to any foreign power or government. Foreign and diplomatic relations are an exclusively federal subject.
If any provincial government has concerns about foreign incursions into Pakistani territory or other such matters, they can write a summary to the federal government requesting their assistance. This outrageous suggestion reflects the flawed mindset of the KP CM and I seriously think he needs to be held accountable.
