AIOU plans to develop innovative commercial S&T projects

The Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has decided to prepare short and long-term plans to develop innovative projects in the field of science and technology for commercial purposes that benefit society.
The decision to this effect was taken by the AIOU’s Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialisation (ORIC) at its Task Group’s meeting presided over by Dean Sciences Professor Dr. Naghmana Rashid.
The establishment of a separate office (ORIC) is an initiative taken by AIOU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Shahid Siddiqui aimed at maintaining liaison with industrial sector to share latest academic research and innovative ideas in relevant fields.
The office works as a bridge between researchers and the end-users for the application of latest knowledge (new innovation). The Task Group also decided to hold a national conference of University’s Alumnis in September this year to share their experience and achievements in the field of science and technology.
